The Math Doctor is a one-on-one tutoring service that specializes in all levels of math (from grade school to college), physics, chemistry, and special tests (e.g., the PSAT, SAT, ACT, ELM, CBEST, GRE, etc.).  Instruction in digital photography as well as photographer services are available as well.

Typically, students use our services to get through their homework and prepare for quizzes and exams.  Mostly, students will come in for one or two appointments per week, with appointments usually lasting from half and hour to an hour (although, on occasion, longer appointments are booked).

Our office has three rooms, so we can accommodate up to three students at any one time (each student will be in a separate room with their own tutor).  Sometimes, students prefer to come with a friend or classmate, and, on those occasions, two or more students may share the appointment with a single tutor.

The Math Doctor is a "pay-as-you-come" service.  That is, there are no contracts that bind you to our services.  You are only obligated to pay each time you use our service.

Perhaps the most important point to note is that after a session with us, you will leave with all your questions answered.  There will be no doubt how to work the problems, or what has to be done to get the grade on the test.  Any question a student has will be answered, and they will understand the answer -- I guarantee it.

People usually pay us to get the grade, and that's what we do.  We are not a school with our own program.  The Math Doctor serves to get you the help you require for your immediate needs.  We cover fundamental skills only as they apply to task at hand.  For example, if a student cannot solve an algebra problem because they cannot add and subtract negative numbers, we will cover that.  But if they are also having difficulty with fractions, unless this applies to the problem at hand, we will not cover it (unless specifically asked).

In other words, we are straight to the point.  On the other hand, if the student is doing fine in school but seeking enrichment, either by filling holes from gaps in understanding, or by pressing ahead to future material, then we are happy to serve.  Whatever your specific needs are, we satisfy them.

This, of course, brings up our guarantee.  It's quite simple -- if you feel unsatisfied in any way, there will be no charge.  We've yet to have someone take us up on that offer.  But, what is a usual occurrence, is that there is insufficient time to cover all the material necessary.  In that case, I'm afraid the guarantee works in reverse -- you will have to book another session!  But, rest assured -- an hour with us is more effective than a week in the classroom.

Lastly, we also offer lessons in digital photography for both compact digicams and DSLRs.  Just as with math, we can help from the most simple questions to the advanced.  In addition, photographer-for-hire services are available.  The lobby has a few examples of photographs (which, incidentally, are for sale!).  So, if you are interested in learning how to use your new camera, or interested in having some photos taken, then we can certainly oblige!
